Greetings from the Palm Beach County Chapter of the American Guild of Organists!
Every year, we organize events that showcase instruments and music around the county, including guest artists, an annual recital performed by our members, organ crawls, and dinners. We also share events and newsletters with our neighboring Chapters in Fort Lauderdale and Miami, so there’s a wide variety of exciting possibilities for all of us. Take a look through this website to get to know us, to see which events are coming up soon, and for information on how to get connected.

The Palm Beach County Chapter is thrilled to announce the winners of our inaugural organ composition contest:
1st Prize ($500): Brenda Portman, Prelude on “Love Unknown”
2nd Prize ($250): John Behnke, Fanfare and Fugue on “Engelberg”
3rd Prize ($150): Wayne Wold, Laudes Domini (When Morning Gilds the Skies)
Each of these new works received their premiere performance at our Members Recital on Sunday, February 18, where the audience voted on their favorite, for an extra “People’s Choice” prize of $100. The recital took place at The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach, on the 114-rank Austin organ.
The Audience prize was won by Brenda Portman, Prelude on “Love Unknown”
We were thrilled to have 17 entries for this contest, as we looked for new compositions of 3-5 minutes in length, suitable for use in worship services and at a level playable by most organists.
Performing at our Member Recital were Phil Lehenbauer, Robert Littlefield, Jan Fulford, David Clyle Morse, Barbara Thompson, David MacFarlane, Robert Vogel, Hal Pysher, and Stuart Forster.
